Psalms 33:12- "Blessed is the nation whos god is the Lord."
This Thursday, May 2, 2002, we, as Americans, will be celebrating the 51st annual National Day of Prayer. Last year in the Quarryville Advertisers front page read "Pray For America." This was not just in regular words, but also in large, bold, blue, letters. This country, in 1776, was based solely on God. The laws and rights were based on Godly principles. My question is quite simple, What do we do for God today, in 2002? As a whole the country is a secular minded people. Our minds are taken over by things such as MTV, pornography, movies, and a lot of other junk. The Internet could be thrown in the mix as well, however a lot of people do work for Gods ministry. Sadly, however, it as well is getting to be corrupted.
Society is getting so bad that people can not even play Christian music in an enclosed building unless it is a Christian building, such as a church. This in some ways is right, for peoples religious beliefs. Maybe some people believe in a different god, or, for that matter, none at all. The thing is though, what about the first amendment, "The freedom to speech, religion......," and the list goes on. So why cant we as Christians voice our opinion openly? My final statement is this, For a "God based" country, do we base our self on God?
"We gotta get back to the principles found in the word
A little G-O-D could be societys cure
From the state that were in
Cuz again were slippin
So pray for America
Cuz time is tickin" **
